Learning Commons Spaces

Flexible furniture makes it ideal for meetings and collaborative work. This is our largest enclosed room, but it is located beside our main entry/exit, so it can still be noisy during lunches and class changes.

Fixed, front-facing seating makes this room best suited for lectures and presentations. Tables are equipped with student laptop chargers at each station.

This area is bounded by a half-wall but is open to the main learning commons space. This is our largest meeting area, but crowds before school and during lunches make it very noisy during those times.

• Capacity: 40 inside the wall, plus 12 at the tables outside the wall. More seating can be moved in to accommodate larger meetings.

• Reservations: Students can check studio availability and make reservations online. Staff must email the learning commons staff to request reservations.

A small open space for recording video, primarily using student devices

• Capacity: One small group, plus two editors
• Reservations: Students can check studio availability and make reservations online. Staff must email the learning commons staff to request reservations.

This space is intended for using the makerspace resources, such as the 3D printer, sewing machine, Cricut cutter, and crafting kits.

• Capacity: 6-8
• Furniture: 2 movable tables, 1 fixed worktable, 6 chairs
• AV: none
• Reservations: No reservations. Students and staff are allowed to enter at any time to use these resources.

A quiet, sensory-friendly space for students and staff who need a sensory break.

• Capacity: 8 maximum
• Furniture: 4 tables for individual study, 3 chairs and 2 beanbags for reading and relaxation
• Reservations: No reservations. The Zen Zone is open for students and staff any time the learning commons is open.
